Circular Quay wouldn’t be the same without these guys, I love it so much.. didgeridoo playing sends me into a trance, so mesmerising

I’m more inclined to say it would be a lot, lot better for us circle performers if everyone didn’t have to have a noise war with digerdoo players at wharf 2.

Rest In Peace Maurice Sendak

You were a wonderful person who revolutionised children’s literature and illustration. I can’t express my gratitude toward you for being such a constant inspiration and for having such an impact on my life and so many of the lives of others.I hope you rest in peace.

Last night I watched Tell Them Anything You Want : A Portrait of Maurice Sendak, a documentary I found completely moving. Sendak was and still is my idol, I hope to do to puppetry what he did to children’s literature. I’m in shock, shaking and nauseous after reading of his passing. I spent all of today thinking about getting a Sendak related tattoo, I have for a while, but now I feel as if it is an obligation more than just “something cool”.  His influence upon me as an artist and just on how to view life is immeasureable.  I’m reeling from this. First MCA and now Sendak, this week has been a sad, sad week for those artists who have influenced me.

You were always on about how everyone will eventually die, and what you have left behind as your life’s work is more than enough to inspire future generations.

Rest in Peace, Maurice Sendak

Out There Atlanta: Episode 45: David Stephens, puppeteer

outthereatlanta:

It’s not every episode that gives you the chance to hear from a puppet and his creator. Luckily for you, we got a chance to sit down with David Stephens, the master puppeteer behind All Hands Productions, and his puppet Norbert. I think it’s safe to say, this is our first interview with someone…
